Player of the week: Jordan Knowles

U10:
Our U10 boys were back in action in Kiely Park on Saturday morning 9.45am v Blackrock.
This follows on from an outing last Friday evening against a good Douglas group .
Thanks also our minor team who shared Riverstown with the U10 boys last Monday evening for training games in preparation for the
matches.

U14s:
U14 Premier 1 league took place on 19 th Jun where Sars took on Shandrum away. Full time score was Sars 3:18 to Shandrum 1:09.
U16Premier 2 hurling league was played in Togher on 22 Jun V St. Finbarr's. Full time score St.Finbarr's 0:14 to Sars 3:17.

On 19 th Jun our Minor 2 team took on Midleton at home. This proved to be a close encounter, but Sars emerged victorious Full time score Sars 1:19
to Midleton 1:16
On 24 th Jun our Premier 1 Minor team took on Ballincollig at home. Under the blistering sun our Premier 1 Minors had a very impressive outing at
home in Páirc Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh. Full time score Sars 4:21 to Ballincollig 1:17.

Our Senior team travelled to Clonmult Memorial Park on Thursday 25 th June in their last league fixture ahead of the Red FM Hurling League final. This
was in essence a drees rehearsal of that next meeting, which is provisionally scheduled for 5th July. This was a fiery encounter as both sides are
very familiar with one another. Midleton emerged victorious on the night. Full time score Midleton 2:18 to Sars 1:13.

Our Junior hurlers travelled to Rathcormac on Friday evening 26 th Jun to take on Bride Rovers in the Roca Sports East Cork Junior Hurling league Div
4 League final. Unfortunately, it was not our night, and Bride Rovers were named league champions. Full Time score 3:19 to Sars 0:18
Our final adult fixture of the week saw our Intermediates take on Kinsale in their last league fixture. A win meant Sars would go on to the league
final. This was played on Sat 27 th Jun at Páirc Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh. Sars won this game impressively, full time score 2:37 to Kinsale 1:13.
This was a hugely important game for the club as it means we now take on Aghada in the league final (Fixture TBC) and more importantly we will
now be promoted to Division 5 of the league for 2027.

Sarsfields Hurling Club would like to take a moment to acknowledge the achievements of two very special Sars players, Barry O’Flynn Cork U20
Captain and Eoin Considine Cork Minor Captain 2026. We are delighted to now have them back in the Sars jersey after a busy year in the red jersey.
It is rare to have two players from one Club captain two separate Cork teams in the same year! This is testament to the lads. Congrats on your
achievements to date and we look forward to seeing you both in action long into the future.

Sarsfields Hurling Club Annual Golf Classic:
This event took place on Friday 26th June in Castlemartyr Golf Resort.
This was a hugely successful day, and the weather was most definitely in our favour. Sincere thanks must go to our Golf committee, our many
generous sponsors, our main sponsor for this event EX Living Interiors, all the participants and also to Castlemartyr Gold Resort for the use of the
amazing course and facilities.

Summer Slam Draw:
Our attention now turns to our Summer slam draw. The draw takes place on 10th July @Sars Pavilion Bar. Tickets are available from all club
members, bar staff and organiser Barry Myers. There is a collection date for people to return tickets on Wed 01st July 7.30pm-8.30pm at Sars
Pavilion Bar and more will be announced on social media channels. We will be in Super Valu also on the first weekend in July. This is our main
fundraising event so far in 2026 and all support is most welcome. There are over 20 amazing prizes to be won. 1st Prize are 2 All Ireland Hurling Final
tickets, hotels breaks and premiership match tickets and many more.
